– The Independent Review Panel, consisting of one representative from the U.S. Soccer Federation, one representative from the Canadian Soccer Association, and one independent representative nominated by the Professional Referee Organization, has unanimously rescinded the one-game suspension and accompanying fine for the violent conduct red card Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Cristian Roldan received in the 18th minute of Seattle’s match against the Los Angeles Football Club on April 28 (

As a result of Seattle’s appeal, Roldan is eligible to play in Sounders FC’s next regular season game on Saturday, May 4, against Minnesota United FC.
Each club is entitled to two unsuccessful appeals per season, including the MLS Cup Playoffs. Since Seattle’s appeal was successful, the club maintains its two unsuccessful appeals for any future dismissals in the 2019 season.
