Inter Miami CF academy signing Ian Fray has torn his ACL, according to multiple reports out of Miami.
The 18-year-old center back suffered the injury last week, Inter Miami managing owner Jorge Mas told reporters on Saturday, and will be out indefinitely.
Fray, a native of Coconut Creek, Florida, was signed to Inter Miami's first team along with fellow academy product Edison Azcona on January 26 after impressing in nine appearances for Fort Lauderdale CF in USL League One during the 2020 season, establishing himself as one of the team's top young prospects.
He made the USL League One All-League Second Team in 2020, while recording the fourth-highest passing accuracy among defenders in the league at 86.5 percent, also dishing out one assist.
