The LA Galaxy have added a veteran presence, announcing on Wednesday they have signed midfielder Jeff Larentowicz. Per MLS and club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The free agent, who played the past three seasons with the Chicago Fire, will join a Galaxy team looking for new faces after the departures this offseason of Juninho and Omar Gonzalez.
Larentowicz, 32, has made over 300 appearances over 11 seasons with the Fire, Colorado Rapids and New England Revolution. He won MLS Cup with the Rapids in 2010 and the US Open Cup with the Revolution in 2007.
“Jeff is an experienced and proven midfielder in our league,” said LA Galaxy head coach and general manager Bruce Arena in a team statement. “He gives our team another veteran presence on the field and in the locker room. We are excited to add Jeff to our roster and look forward to his contribution this season.”
