TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing
LAFC have acquired midfielder Leo Walta on loan from EFL Championship side Swansea City, the club announced Monday.
The 23-year-old Finland international's loan is through 2026 with a purchase option.
Walta broke through at Danish Superliga side FC Nordsjælland and rose to prominence at Sweden's IK Sirius, then moved to Swansea in 2026. He's scored once in 12 games with Swansea.
Internationally, Walta has 1g/3a in 14 caps with Finland and earned consistent call-ups over the last year-plus.
"Leo is a talented young player who has shown his quality throughout his career. His creativity, technical ability and versatility in midfield can make him another important piece of our team," said John Thorrington, LAFC's president of soccer operations.
"We thank Swansea for their collaboration and are excited for what Leo can bring to LAFC as we continue our pursuit of trophies."
Walta is LAFC's third international signing this summer, following German forward Armindo Sieb and Venezuelan midfielder Sergio Vásquez.
The Black & Gold are third in the Western Conference during their first year under head coach Marc Dos Santos and are pushing for a home Audi MLS Cup Playoffs spot.
