The suitor list for rising Canada men's national team star Jonathan David continues to grow.
A report from Belgian outlet Het Laatste Nieuws links David with Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester United, following another report this spring that connected the 20-year-old with the Bundesliga more broadly. Any deal would reportedly cost in excess of $20 million.
David is coming off a breakout season with KAA Gent, totaling 23 goals and 10 assists between Belgium's Jupiler League and the UEFA Europa League. He’s been with the club since the 2017-18 season, and can slot into several attacking roles out wide or centrally.
With Canada, David already has 11 goals through 12 games, highlighted by earning the Golden Boot Award at the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup. Alongside former Vancouver Whitecaps and current Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies, David is considered the future of the CanMNT.
