Career Summary

Devin Padelford joined Minnesota United as the club’s first Homegrown Player out of MNUFC’s new Academy under the Youth Development Program. Originally a left-footed attacker, Padelford switched to defense when he joined the MNUFC program.

In 2025, Padelford made five appearances (two starts) with the first team. He spent much of the year with MNUFC2, serving as a leader with seven appearances, all starts. Padelford was sent on loan to St. Louis CITY SC on July 22, 2025. He debuted with St. Louis against Minnesota United on July 27. He made a total of 10 appearances (nine starts) and recorded an assist in his second game, where St. Louis beat Nashville SC 3-1.

During the 2024 season, Padelford stepped into the back line as a mainstay during the first half of the season, making 24 appearances and 19 starts. Notably, he played the most games (32) as a Homegrown for Minnesota since making his debut in 2023. Padelford also provided his first MNUFC and MLS assists on April 1 against Sporting Kansas City.

The young fullback made eight appearances with the first team in 2023, earning his first start against Detroit City FC in the U.S. Open Cup and making his MLS debut against Toronto FC on June 3, 2023. Weeks later, against Austin FC, Padelford scored his first professional goal, preventing a shutout loss at home on July 8, 2023. The Woodbury native also played significant time with MNUFC2, appearing in 18 matches (all starts), scoring one goal, and providing eight assists.

In 2022, Padelford was loaned out to MNUFC2, where he started 22 matches and provided one assist in 1,946 MLS NEXT Pro regular-season minutes. The defender notably made his first-team debut during U.S. Open Cup action, playing seven minutes as a substitute against Union Omaha on May 25, 2022. Padelford also featured as a second-half substitute against Everton FC in a friendly match on July 7, 2022, recording seven minutes on the pitch.
