Career Summary

Castilla first joined the Houston Dynamo Academy in 2016 as an 11 year old, working his way through the ranks until he was called into first-team preseason camp for then-head coach Tab Ramos ahead of the 2020 MLS season. Castilla was a key member of the Dynamo academy U-17 squad that qualified for the Generation adidas Cup Final last year at Houston Sports Park. It was the first time that the Dynamo Academy U-17s qualified for the final round of the annual tournament. At only fifteen years old, Castilla was made the youngest-ever Homegrown signing in June of 2020. Castilla made his Major League Soccer debut in the finale of the 2021 campaign, making him the youngest player to feature for the club. A regular at U.S. youth international level, Castilla has recently made waves with his performances for the Colombian U-20 National Team.

Last season, Castilla spent the majority of the season with MLS NEXT Pro side Houston Dynamo 2, becoming a mainstay in the midfield alongside Brooklyn Raines in a campaign that saw the team qualify for the playoffs in its first ever season.
