CF Montréal sign striker Prince Owusu
TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing CF Montréal have signed striker Prince Owusu to a two-year contract through 2026 with an option for 2027, the club announced Monday.
Owusu joined CF Montréal on January 13, 2025. Born in Wertheim, Germany, he is a product of the VfB Stuttgart academy, a club with which he began his professional career with the reserve team in 2015. He joined TSG Hoffenheim's reserve team in 2017, where he scored 17 goals in two seasons.
In 2018, Owusu continued his Bundesliga 2 journey with Arminia Bielefeld before being loaned out to German third-division club TSV 1860 Munich, where he scored eight goals and six assists in all competitions. He was part of the club's Bavarian Cup triumph in 2020.
After spells at SC Paderborn in 2020 and 2021, then FC Erzgebirge Aue in 2022, the striker joined SSV Jahn Regensburg, where he scored nine goals in the 2022-23 Bundesliga 2 season.
Owusu made the jump to MLS in August 2023 with Toronto FC. In 2024, he scored nine goals in 31 games, including 20 starts, and 1,844 minutes in MLS. He also scored three goals and two assists in five matches at the 2024 Canadian Championship, as well as two assists in three matches at the 2024 Leagues Cup.
On the international scene, Owusu represented Germany at U15, U18 and U19 levels.
