The Ohio native has made 170 appearances for MNUFC across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing 11 assists. During the 2024 home opener, Trapp appeared in his 100th MNUFC match across all competitions. He continued his role as a mainstay in the midfield, playing in 149 regular-season matches (142 starts) for Minnesota United.
The veteran added 42 appearances (39 starts) with 3,276 minutes in the 2025 season. Trapp made all of his statistical contributions in the regular season, recording two goals and four assists. The veteran brought control and balance to the midfield, helping drive the team’s 56-goal output during the regular season.

Prior to joining Miami for their expansion year in 2020, Trapp spent his professional career with the Columbus Crew. The U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder was named an MLS All-Star in 2016, reached the 2015 MLS Cup final, and was named the 2013 U.S. Soccer Young Male Athlete of the Year. Trapp represented Columbus Crew for seven seasons, making his professional debut for the club in 2013 at 20 years old. In total, he made 204 appearances for the Crew, registering two goals and 13 assists. During his seven seasons in Columbus, he helped guide the club to the playoffs four times.

INTERNATIONAL: Trapp has made 18 appearances for the United States Men’s National Team since January 2018, including the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup and multiple international friendlies. He originally made his senior national team debut in 2015 in a friendly against Chile, with his second appearance coming a year later against Canada. At the youth level, Trapp represented the U.S. U-18, U-20, and U-23 teams. Notably, he appeared in both the 2013 Concacaf U-20 Championship and the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup. The U-20 squad finished as runners-up in the 2013 Concacaf Championship, with Trapp playing all 120 minutes of the final.
