Real Salt Lake have qualified for the Audi 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs, clinching their spot with a 2-1 win over the LA Galaxy on Decision Day.
RSL finished ninth in the Western Conference standings (45 points; 13W-15L-6D). They will visit No. 8 Seattle Sounders FC in the Wild Card match.
The Claret-and-Cobalt are headed to the postseason for a sixth consecutive season, including every year since head coach Pablo Mastroeni took charge in 2021.
The club won MLS Cup presented by Audi in 2009 and lost in the 2013 final.
Star players
USMNT midfielder Diego Luna was limited by injuries this year, recording 5g/6a before undergoing season-ending knee surgery in mid-September.
Despite losing Luna and transferring homegrown winger Zavier Gozo to English Premier League side Crystal Palace, RSL found form late to qualify for the postseason.
Rookie striker Sergi Solans took the league by storm with 15g/4a, earning a contract extension in August. Morgan Guilavogui joined as a Designated Player from Ligue 1 side RC Lens and co-leads the team with 10 assists.
Meanwhile, 2026 FIFA World Cup defenders Juan Manuel Sanabria (Uruguay) and Luc de Fougerolles (Canada) provide added quality in front of veteran goalkeeper Rafael Cabral.
