He may own a share of Seattle's single-season scoring record in MLS, but Eddie Johnson is just now getting around to winning a AT&T Goal of the Week award.
With just minutes remaining on the clock last Saturday against Chivas USA, Fredy Montero carved out a bit of space and sent a cross to the middle of the box. And there was Johnson, doing what he's done all season by heading home the game-winner in front of a typically raucous CenturyLink Field crowd.
The former US national teamer now has 13 MLS goals this season and both tallies last weekend came via headers: “Fortunately, I’m in a team where we have good guys who are good out wide and serve great balls into the box,” Johnson said after Saturday's match.
The AT&T Goal of the Week winner is determined by the total number of votes cast online and via text message.
